Bryce Valley KOA – Off to work we go!

Here we are back in KOA Yellow again.

So we thought we were retired? With 20 years as owners of the Silver City KOA behind us we’re using our experience to help other KOA owners. After we sold our campground we signed up as KOA Alumni and “camp sitters”. Camp sitters are retired owners like us who have the ability to step in and operate another KOA if the owners need managers while they take time off. We'll be here for 2 weeks.

We were fortunate to be called upon to camp sit for the new owners and managers of the Cannonville/Bryce Valley KOA near Bryce Canyon, Utah. Managers John & Chris Burke needed someone to take over while they attended a week of training at KOA, Inc. in Billings, Montana.

I say we were fortunate because we love southern Utah and can’t think of a better place to spend the time. With a few days of instruction from John and Chris we easily slip back into the campground routine of taking care of the grounds and facilities, working the office and best of all, meeting and greeting their campers.

Bryce Canyon National Park is nearby and a magnet for travelers from all over the world. Most of our European campers come from Germany and France. Since we’ve spent a lot of time in southern Utah we’re able to help them with destinations and things to see. We get time to chat with them and find out about their travels. Conversations with our guests and the services we provide to them have always been the best part of being a KOA owner.

The Bryce Valley KOA is a natural beauty. It’s terraced around a hill crowned with pinon and juniper against a back drop of the banded hills that hem this lovely valley. The RV sites are level and spacious, and the cabins and tent sites are well placed in the natural contours of the hill to offer wonderful views, serenity and relaxation. As always the showers, restrooms and laundry are clean and well maintained, just like home.

From the KOA you can venture into Bryce Canyon, the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument and Kodachrome Basin. There’s top notch hiking and biking. These are just the many facets of the jewel that is southern Utah.

We highly recommend the Bryce Valley KOA. John and Chris are great people and they and their staff are ready to welcome you. Come see!
